Confidentiality, Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is very important to me and any information you share with me is completely confidential. I will always go through and fill in a consultation form with you on your first visit and keep this, along with any brief hand-written treatment session notes, safely and securely. The purpose of taking a consultation and keeping session notes is to make sure that I have your relevant personal and contact details, to help me tailor your treatment to your specific needs and to help us both make the most effective use of our time together. By signing your consultation form you are consenting to my keeping it and your session notes, as laid out in this section. I will also seek your written permission to contact you via email, telephone and text. Please rest assured that all emails and texts received from you and containing any personal information will be deleted as soon as possible after reading. I respect your right to ask me to no longer contact you (via email for my records) if you so wish. I am very happy for you to contact me via social media but would actively discourage you from sharing sensitive personal information, simply because I cannot vouch for its security.
I have a legal and insurance requirement to keep all consultation forms and session notes for a period of 7 years after your last visit, or 7 years after a minor reaches the age of maturity (18) which complies with the Statute of Limitations....after this all records will be securely destroyed.
The only time that I would ever break confidentiality is in extreme cases, where there is danger of harm to yourself or someone else...in this instance I would always seek your permission to do this beforehand if at all possible.
Under the new Data Protection laws you have a right to see any notes that I keep about you and I am happy to share these with you in person. I will never share your personal information with any third parties. For your protection I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Our Commitment to Each Other
Whilst I always endeavour to do everything within my ability to facilitate a successful treatment outcome whenever possible, it is also reliant upon your active participation, interest in promoting your own healing and well-being, and willingness to undergo some work at home as appropriate and necessary. I also ask you to make a commitment to yourself and the work we do together by turning up on time, participating in your own healing and honouring our relationship, and both of our busy schedules.
